Lintgen is a quiet commune in the Alzette valley, around 12 km north of Luxembourg City, comprising the villages of Lintgen, Gosseldange and Prettingen. The village character has been carefully preserved - traditional sandstone houses, narrow lanes, two churches, a few cafes and bakeries - while a regular train link to the capital (around 25 minutes to Luxembourg Central) keeps it firmly in commuter range.

The commune sits in a wide stretch of the Alzette valley, with farmland on both sides and the start of the Mullerthal hills further north. Walking and cycling routes follow the river through to Mersch (the next major commune up the valley) and back south toward Walferdange and the city. The pace of life is genuinely slower than the southern belt - this is countryside, not suburbia - and the architectural mix reflects that: solid 19th and early 20th century farmhouses, post-war family homes, and a measured supply of new developments concentrated near the train station.

For buyers, Lintgen offers noticeably better value than the southern communes - houses at 7,500-9,000 EUR/sqm are normal, well below Hesperange or Niederanven at similar size. The trade-off is location: while train access to the capital is good, by car the commute can be slower at peak times along the valley road. Families who prioritise space, traditional housing stock and a real village atmosphere over proximity to Cloche d'Or find Lintgen one of the better-kept secrets of the Luxembourg market.

Schools are local Luxembourgish-system primary; for international schooling, Mersch and Luxembourg-City options are within 15-30 minutes by car.

Why Work With Daniela Here

I have been advising buyers and sellers in Luxembourg for over a decade, working in English, French and Italian. International buyers don't lose nuance in translation, and Italian-speaking sellers can negotiate in their own language - both genuinely matter when you are committing seven figures to a property.

For Lintgen specifically, the local detail makes the difference: which streets sit closer to traffic noise, which apartment buildings have a healthy copropriete, where construction is approved, where prices are still moving. I work directly with you, on your timeline, and I am supported by the wider Remax One Luxembourg network when listings or buyer matches require it.

While my primary service area is south of Luxembourg City, I regularly help clients with property in Lintgen through my RE/MAX network and trilingual expertise. References available on request.
